We all love something new and shiny…
Well in our case, new and yummy! One of the favourite aspects of our job is the sourcing of new products, travelling to new areas to taste what a particular region has to offer, hunting for the best of what WA and Australia produces, and hearing all about new and upcoming lines.
And we have certainly been busy in this area of late, there is definitely no chance of us being skinny, thinking Weight Watchers should be a tax deduction for us.
We have recently added heaps of amazing quality and absolutely divine new products, including:
Jams, condiments, liqueurs and fortified wines from Margaret River’s The Berry Farm. For nearly 30 years, The Berry Farm have been tantalizing tastebuds with their incredible range and being a must-see spot for tourists on their trek down south. Make sure you drop into their gorgeous cellar door and café, when you’re next in Margaret River.
For something a little decadent, we have added Mork Chocolate’s range of drinking chocolates. They describe themselves as the Cacao Artisans of Melbourne, producing small batches of Mörk hot chocolate by finely grating the pure cacao liquor or chocolate and fusing it with the cocoa powder and coconut blossom sugar. A great deal of
care is taken with every step of the process to ensure it always tastes as good as they can make it. Our personal favourite is their Mork Chocolate with LuxBite Salted Caramel, imagine having a jar of their salted caramel to stir through your hot chocolate (or even just to eat off a spoon). If you have been lucky enough to visit LuxBite in Melbourne’s South Yarra to try any number of their exquisite dessert creations, you would know the talent that this patisserie has. When their catch phrase is “Life is uncertain. Eat dessert first”, what’s not to love.
BETTENAY’S MARGARET RIVER NOUGAT
Since the introduction of Bettenay’s range of nougat to our online store, we have received such a favourable response, how could we not investigate further. We popped into their Margaret River property recently to see much more of what the amazing Bettenay family are making. We came across their Nougaretto Liqueur’s, think divine nougat in a bottle, sooo very good!
There are certainly many gems in WA’s South West and after many customer requests for a top quality olive oil, we came across the Wiluru Farm in Yallingup. To win a Gold medal at last year’s Japan Olive International Extra Virgin Olive Oil Competition, be used in one of well regarded chef, Bill Granger’s Japanese Restaurants and also getting a very favourable mention from The Sunday Time’s Food Critic, Gail Williams, we think we have delivered on the ‘top quality’ brief.
Hopefully we have piqued your interest, or your tastebuds, enough to give some of these new lines a try or even add some of them to your next ‘Create Your Own’ gift hamper. If there is something in particular you would like to see in our range, we would love to hear from you, send through an email on our contact form or even let us know on Facebook or Twitter.
If you are a producer with a quality product that you think would compliment our current range, we would love to hear from you too.
